UI Design

I joined Bureau for Visual Affairs (BfVA), as a UX / UI Designer and a behavioural science consultant on the Belmond project. The aim of the project was do a complete redesign of Belmond's current website and enhance their B2B and B2B2C booking flows to improve conversion rates. Throughout the project so far, I have worked on B2B booking flows, B2B account management, product subpages, hygiene pages, their media hub website, their B2B2C partner website, and have prepared all of the signed off designs for developer handover.

I joined the project with core brand direction and foundational UI elements (typography, image ratios) already defined, and I adapted and integrated their emerging design elements to ensure cohesion across the product, while also developing a distinct visual design language tailored specifically to the booking experience.

This was my first professional client project, and it taught me as much about collaboration and advocacy as it did about design. Working largely independently, I learned to navigate the balance between meeting client expectations and championing the user — knowing when to push back, when to iterate, and when to find a solution that served both. I collaborated closely with developers throughout, ensuring designs were prepared and communicated clearly for handover. The project is almost complete and due to go live in late 2026 / early 2027.
